Whether it’s a scale model, an enlarged or reduced representation of an existing part, or a functional prototype: additive manufacturing makes it possible to produce customized models and components quickly and flexibly. The basis can be CAD data, existing parts or your own design concepts.

Quickly realizing models and prototypes

3D printing offers significant advantages, particularly for customized models and prototypes. Without the need for complex tooling, even individual parts and small batches can be produced cost-effectively . Changes to digital data can be implemented quickly, even for complex shapes, making it easy to create different variants.

This is particularly useful for presentations, training sessions or trade fairs where parts need to be shown at a different scale.

For prototypes, rapid production makes it possible to check dimensions, installation situations and functions at an early stage. Changes can be incorporated directly into the design and produced as a new version. This allows development processes to remain flexible and components to be optimized step by step.

The right 3D printing process for every application

Depending on the required level of detail, durability and application, ROBOWORKER offers a range of additive manufacturing processes. These include Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) and Stereolithography (SLA).

SLS is particularly suitable for functional plastic components and complex geometries. FDM is available with materials including PLA, PLA-CF and ESD-capable materials. For SLA, Rigid, Tough and transparent materials are used.

Individual post-processing and finishing

Depending on the requirements, models and prototypes can be specifically post-processed and finished. Surface finishing options include chemical smoothing, vibratory finishing, abrasive blasting, coloring, painting and oil-resistant coatings.

For technical post-processing, options include machining processes and the installation of threaded inserts.

This allows 3D-printed models and prototypes to be adapted to the specific application, both visually and functionally.
